The next phase

(from our Anniversary in Park City at the restaurant Handle)

We are down to our last few weeks in Austin!  I can't believe how quickly these last few months have gone.  I realized a few days ago that I never told you where we are moving to, so I figured, I ought to mention it, before we head out in June!

Adam got a job in UTAH!  Hooray!  Actually, I am more happy that he has a job than where it is (he applied to jobs all over the place and I feel like we could have been happy anywhere), but we feel really great about moving to Utah, and he is super stoked about the job itself, so I am happy we are going.

(he was so tiny last summer! And his feet got so dirty on that floor, no matter how often I mopped!)

We will be much closer to his parents, much closer to my family (including my sisters!!!), and my brother lives in Utah, right now, so I am pretty stoked to be going back!

I have been surprised at how much I have missed seeing my family, because we are currently the furthest away.

After I graduated from college and moved to Texas, I found myself missing Utah far more than I had ever missed Las Vegas.  Not that I didn't miss my family (who lived in Las Vegas) when I lived in Utah, but the place itself I never missed.

But I really missed the mountains in Utah, and the snow at Christmas (to be clear here, I hate snow in February-June, but I love it at Christmas), and the gorgeous Spring/Summer/Fall weather.  I am seriously thrilled to be going back!

Wish us luck as we pack up our apartment and drive 1200 miles with a 2 year-old!

  1. How exciting! Congratulations!!! We packed our house and moved from Michigan to Oklahoma last year with a 5, 4, and 1 year old! I drove the van with all of the kids while my husband drove the truck. It was madness, but such a fun adventure!!
