Obsessive

Did I ever tell you that I am totally obsessive?  I am not obsessive compulsive, I just get really obsessed with stuff... There was one fall semester in high school where I listened to one of Josh Groban's albums about 200 times straight, no kidding.  I didn't get sick of it for weeks and weeks.   And even now, although I haven't listened to it in a few years, I don't hate it, I am just not obsessed with it anymore. This happened with loads of CD's in high school, movies, books, plays that I worked on in college, shirts, etc.  There are a few of my obsessions lately:

Argo: remember that movie that I didn't see that won three Oscars?  I was looking for an audio book two or so weeks ago, and saw this one available to check out on my local library's digital page, so I checked it out.  I had to drag myself out of the car to go to work everyday, because it was so dang interesting! I learned loads about Iran, which was kind of cool, because I worked for an Iranian professor in college who left Iran during the time this was going on, so I had heard bits and pieces from her about things that were happening in the country at the time.  Adam got to hear SO much about this book (poor guy, I totally talked his ear off).  I listened to it almost 24/7 until I finished.  I was obsessed.
Frozen:  So much has been going around the internet about the movie Frozen, and sometimes I feel lame for loving things that other people love, but this time, I can't help myself.  It is SO SO SO good!  We saw the movie, then Adam bought me the soundtrack, and I listened to it on repeat for... well, I actually still am listening to it on repeat about once a day.  Totally obsessed.
White Collar:  This has been an on going obsession that I have been trying to control. When I first starting watching it on Netflix over a year ago, I couldn't stop.  Adam starting watching them with me and we watched until we finished season 3 (season 4 was not on Netflix and we were too cheap to buy it).  Then, I proceeded to watch each and every episode between 3 and 5 more times from seasons 1, 2 and 3.   If I didn't feel so guilty about wasting so much time on it, I would probably go watch them all again this week. Obsessed?  I think yes.
Chick Pea Salad:  I even get obsessed with food.  I will get into a groove and only want to eat one thing for days. This salad has been showing up an awful lot, lately, and I am always thrilled to be eating it again (sometimes to the point of being giddy).  I make it slightly differently though, and sometimes put cooked chicken in it, and replace the walnuts with peanuts. Thank goodness that Adam likes it or I would probably cry and then make myself a double batch to eat everyday for a week as consolation.  It is SO delicious!  Probably not for everyone, but hey, more for me :) You should probably be obsessed, too.

  1. I don't usually get obsessed with movies, maybe one every once in awhile (the first time I saw The Phantom of the Opera or Les Miserables), but I totally relate to doing it with music and food! Love Josh Groban and I was completely like that, especially when his newest CD came out!

  3. White Collar is my current obsession. I discovered it on Netflix a week or so in to January and I've been watching every spare moment I get! I've just moved on to Season 3 - I have no idea what I'll do once I've finished. There will be a void in my viewing, that's for sure. Hopefully I can find something that is on par with White Collar.

  4. Landen, I totally hear you on the White Collar obsession. Jen showed it to me when we were still living together, at the very beginning of season 2, and oh my gosh, I was so obsessed with it for forever. After seasons 2 and 3 came out, I think we watched them both in their entirety in about 2 weeks. Oops. Now I just DVR new episodes as they come out, so I'm watching them almost live, but it's definitely, definitely an addicting one!
