summertime white

A few weeks ago I was scouring Pinterest for maternity tutorials. It was surprisingly disappointing... most of the options that I saw were okay, but nothing that I would really want to make.  If I am going to spend the time making something, I want it to be something that I will actually wear, and that will make me feel lovely (if you happen to know of any great resources, please pass them along!).  Thus came the birth of this pinterest board and this dress, which will hopefully be a good piece for my ever-expanding belly.  It probably won't fit when I am 9-months pregnant, but hopefully it will get me through the rest of the summer and into fall! I had sewn this eyelet piece into another dress a few years ago, but was never very happy with how it looked.  I ripped it out and spent several months debating on what to do with it.  This light summertime dress seemed perfect for it!  Perfect for a garden party or just a day out.  Cool, light, and summery.

  4. I agree with Merrick, Megan Nielsen has some adorable patterns. I also really like this post, which isn't DIY but you could easily get ideas for things to make from it. http://walkingwithdancers.blogspot.com/2012/03/looking-good-while-pregnant.html
