Raiding My Sister's Closet: Summer to Fall Closet Transition

Tuesday, September 13, 2016

I am just coming off of a capsule wardrobe from the summer, and am still trying to figure out what my fall looks are going to be (it is still hitting in the 90's here in Texas, so we still have a few more weeks before I really need to have it figured out.  Also, I probably won't do another capsule for fall, but more on that later). No matter what I end up choosing for my fall looks, this shirt will 100% be part of it.

Merrick suggested this shirt on instagram during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale a few months ago, and though I am not a big shopper, I had some birthday money, and had been trying to find a version of this olive shirt for 4 or 5 months.

This gorgeous shirt from Nordstrom fit the bill perfectly.  It doesn't hurt that it is incredibly soft, the most versatile color in the world, and a good fall color.  Thanks for the recommendation, Merrick (she owns this shirt, too; I am going to laugh if she is wearing it in her post!)!

Anyway, as I am figuring out my fall look, I am looking for pieces that can be worn comfortably on a warmish or coolish fall day.  I love pretty neutrals like this shirt, and adding a light scarf helps make an outfit seem seasonal without adding a ton of warmth or bulk.

Also these booties?  I haven't stopped wearing them since I got them in the spring.  I wear them about 3 times a week, and I plan to wear them just about every day in the fall!  They work with everything.  Seriously.  I can't wait to go leaf stomping in them, come November!

Now head on over and see how Merrick and Janssen are transitioning to fall!
