life as a cartoon character

Have you ever found a shirt or a pair of jeans that you loved so much that it made you want to go out and buy another just so you can wear it more? I for one have indeed experienced such feelings of love and devotion towards inanimate articles of clothing; and that several times. I'm not sure what it is, but sometimes I come across something that's just perfect and I want to wear it all the time.

Back in high school one of my very best friends and I had the same pair of jeans, and we both loved them. He liked them so much that he bought 2 more pairs. Result: he wore the the same jeans every day to school for a while. Being the cartoon fans that we were, this situation carried our conversation to an interesting question: What if you found shoes, jeans, and a shirt that you liked a lot, then wore it all every day just like a cartoon character?

Behold some examples:

Note: It seems the classic Steve Jobs look is actually the classic Jonny Quest look.

Part of me thinks that it would be kind of cool to have an outfit become iconic in that it represents you.  Overall, I'm not sure if it's a good idea, but I admittedly could see myself caving in if adequately persuaded to try it. What do you think about the idea?

Wear it well,
Adam
ps- Who do you think is the best dressed cartoon character ever?

  1. Adam, Men come close to this lovely ability to dress the same every day with the whole dark suit, dress shirt and tie thing. We poor women are always in transition with color, fabric, pattern motifs,, dress, pants, skits, dresses, shorts --whatever is new -- fiasco. You can look at a photo from any era in the past 100 years and if the man has on a suit and tie, he still looks nice even today. You might not even be able to determine exactly what era he is from. However, a woman's outfit screams OLD FASHIONED in a second. And often it screams RIDICULOUS as well. Sigh.

This was a fun post! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
