Raiding My Sister's Closet: Orange Edition

Tuesday, September 8, 2015

My closet has gotten significantly less exciting in the last 3 months or so. After our trip to France,  I realized that many of the clothes that I own had not been worn in many months (and not just because we spent 7 weeks in France), and that I hadn't missed them at all.  After a thorough cleaning out, I donated or sold all but the clothes that I wear frequently and love.  I still have a few that I am giving one last chance, because I am sentimental about clothes, but chances are good that in a few weeks, they too will go.

This sweater is one of the hold-outs from my closet purge.   It goes with everything, it is soft and orange.  Orange is one of those colors that I think I look good in.  I always feel extra pretty when I put it on, and because of that, I wear it as often as the weather will allow.  This color of orange is a bit brighter than a lot of the orange you see in the fall, but I feel like that makes it more versatile, and it can be worn year round.

sweater: j. crew factory (sadly, orange is out of stock, but regular j.crew has a similar one here)// shirt: clothing swap// jeans: guess factory// shoes: target (almost identical here)// necklace: old// earrings: clothing swap

Also, while we are talking about fall, in my last post here, I linked to an awesome fall giveaway from Mezzetta pasta products that you don't want to miss!  Check it out!

Merrick and Janssen have fabulous style that you don't want to miss!  I bet they are rocking orange today!

  1. I just picked up a cardigan this color from J.Crew. It was a debate for me because I couldn't really see this as a fall color, or as something that would look good on me - it's so bright! - but I absolutely love it, and people compliment me on it as well. Totally rocking it this fall - probably more than necessary ;) Love it on you, and the combo with the lace top!

    1. Jenn, Isn't this a great sweater? My mother-in-law bought mine for me for Christmas, and I sort of thought the same thing, but it is so fun and versatile! Definitely worth wearing at least once a week in the fall! Thanks for your comment!

  2. I never really comment on blogs, but I just have to say that you are rocking that short hair! Every time I see you with it (instagram or blog) I think it looks so great.

    1. Samantha, thanks for commenting, especially since you never do! I am sort of obsessed with this hair-cut. It is SO fast and easy, and I love the way it looks. It feels very effortless and very me! Thanks for following along!

  3. Cute outfit! Orange is a great color and I totally agree that having a closet with less clothes that you love is better than having a huge closet filled with things you don't wear!
