Green Blazer and Kate Spade

Friday, November 7, 2014

Oh, this jacket.  I could talk about it all day long.  I think it is the most gorgeous piece in my closet right now.  Wool, dark green and a perfect fit.  I am obsessed.  I honestly love J. Crew, so it should come as no shock that my favorite piece of clothing currently is from there.  Also, I have been thinking a lot about filling my closet with high quality clothing that will last a long time and still be stylish.  This jacket has just about made me decide to do it.  I will keep you posted on if I actually do it or not.  I am hoping I will be able to convince myself to do it. Have any of you done something similar?  I have seen a few people in the blogging world paring down their closets to their favorite items and people say great things about it, but somehow, I am scared.

Frugal Fall: Part 5 - Add a jacket

Friday, October 3, 2014

I have quite a few jackets that I am obsessed with (this being one of them), and Texas is WAY to hot to wear them for about 3/4 of the year, but fall... Blessed fall is when you can finally break out the classy jackets, the rocker jackets, the blazers and all the other gorgeous jackets that help complete an outfit.  Finish off your look with a terrific looking jacket!

Frugal Fall: Part 4 - Sweater Weather!

Thursday, October 2, 2014

Dress them up, dress them down, it is finally cool enough to pull out the sweaters!  I am obsessed with sweaters, particularly cardigans, and love layering them.  I bought this t-shirt at Kohl's this summer, and am kind of obsessed with it, and it is the perfect layering piece, because it adds just a little bit of spice, while the dark purple of the sweater makes it look more fall-like!

Frugal Fall: Part 3 - Embrace the Scarves

Part 3:  Embrace the Scarves
Scarves are an absolute staple for me.  Growing up in Vegas, I only had a few that I wore regularly when I worked at an ice rink, but as I have gotten older, they have become a regular part of my wardrobe.  I love partnering them with a complimentary patterned skirt, shirt or dress.  I think they can add a lot of charm to an outfit, and help finish the look! Also, I really wanted to take a great up-close of this outfit, but I was getting swarmed by mosquitos, so I had to run for cover.  Such is life on a wet Texas day...

Frugal Fall: Part 1 - Monochrome

Monday, September 29, 2014

This week, I thought it would be fun to focus on 5 different ways that I change up my wardrobe for fall without going to the store.  Fall is one of my very favorite times of year, because you can leave behind the t-shirt and shorts of summer and head into the sweaters, jackets, layering, tights and boots of fall...  I just love it!  I will spend each day on a different idea to help keep your closet fresh for fall, and post some example and inspiration photos to go along with it!  So stay tuned this week for a fun series!

Day 1:  Monochrome
Pull together a monochrome outfit for a chic, bold look.  I love monochrome, because it can be sliming (important for my ever increasing waistline) and timeless. Plus, if everything is the same color, it is super easy to match :)
