A little yellow dress

Wednesday, September 17, 2014

I have thought a lot about what pregnant women look good in (me, specifically) and I decided to make this loose-fitting yellow dress to fit the bump.  I have had this fabric for a while and absolutely loved the mustard color, but I wasn't sure what it should make.  One of my favorite childhood books, Dancing Shoes by Noel Streatfield, has a character that has a triumphant moment in a marigold colored dress and somehow I found myself gravitating to some sort of shift dress because of this. Finally I decided that this was the right shape for the weight and color of the fabric.  It is EXTREMELY comfortable, and nice and light for the hot September days that we are still experiencing.  Plus, I am obsessed with the hemline, and it should fit my baby-shaped body for a long time!

    1. Thanks, Janssen! I should make you one too, because it fits the pregnant belly well and is SO comfy while still being something other than sweatpants.

    1. Honestly I think you only need to have one project turn out well and you will be hooked! It is kind of addictive if your project turns out! You definitely should try it out!
